The Covid 19 Impact Gorilla tourism has been the lifeblood of the area since it started in 1992. Guidelines from the President of the Republic of Uganda have closed the tourism industry and all the related businesses, due to the global pandemic that is still a strong threat for everyone. The Batwa people are the most affected, as they are no longer able to use dance, theatre and handicrafts to support their livelihoods. With almost no other survival options, there is an immediate and desperate need for food to sustain both the local communities and the ecosystem.
