When schools in Uganda reopened, after being closed for two years in 2020 due to the global pandemic,

ONE IN TEN children

was missing from each classroom.

Most parents lost their jobs while the whole economy went down. Over 38% of families from the outskirts of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - a world heritage site who entirely depends on tourism - can’t manage to put food on the table, much less pay school fees for their children. This has increased frustration and, with it, domestic violence, child marriages,  poverty,  disease and illnesses and homeless children.

As a non-profit community, we have managed to send 30 children to school with the support from different sponsors across the world.

We provided the school with sleeping mattresses, clothing for the children, we constructed an improved a ventilated pit latrine for the church school, supported two community schools with meals for the whole school term for two years. And also extended safe water points.

Currently we have a very long list of children who really need our help to attain an education, clothes and food. At $120 per student, you can send a child to school as a day student and at $ 258 to a boarding school.

We can feed 687 young children in primary schools for $1600 a month, making it $15000 per year for the two primary schools. These children are fed on corn flour (Posho), beans mixed with vegetables. We serve them breakfast and lunch only.
